Yahya Ghassani saw once a blind bird inside the hoof of a hollow donkey, marveled at the state of this bird and how it lives!.

Then he heard the son of a wasp (the fragile bee-like insect) and when the bird heard its voice and felt it, was moving to it.

The female wasp came to him and threw the food into his mouth (the mouth of the bird) and then she went.

Fixing the country and the people until God fixes them

أدب رسول الله
The blind bird, the wasp and the tales of Yahya Al-Ghassani

Umar ibn Abd al-Aziz appointed Yahya ibn Yahya al-Ghassani as Mosul judge.

At the time, it was one of the most corrupt and stolen countries.

Yahya sent to ‘Umar to ask him about his ruling on people, should they be judged by mere accusation and suspicion without evidence, or should he judge after there is evidence?

‘Umar replied to him to judge among the people by evidence and said to him: “If people do not reform the truth, Allah will not fix them.”

Yahya said, “So I did that, and I didn’t get out of Mosul until it was one of the best and least stolen in the country.”

The intercession of Yahya Al-Ghassani for the people of Damascus

The Abbasid prince Abdullah bin Ali laid siege to Damascus, and it was ruthless and severe.

His army was fighting the people of Damascus and entering them from all the gates of Damascus.

The people of Damascus wanted Judge Yahya al-Ghassani to go to the Abbasid prince and ask him to leave them safe.

Al-Ghassani went to the Abbasid prince and asked him to do so and asked him for safety for the people of Damascus.

The Abbasid prince agreed and said to one of his soldiers: “Go with this flag and concentrate it in his house (i.e. the house of Yahya al-Ghassani), and call out to the people: Whoever enters the house of Yahya bin Yahya is safe.”

The people of Damascus fled to Dar al-Ghassani, where no one was killed, even from the houses next to it.
